Suzanne Breaks Down

IT is a sad fact, today Suzanne broke down, it was a long time coming and frankly I should have seen it coming. Fortunately I signed her up to AA so recovery was underway in no time.  Im not sure what else I will get done tomorrow, but the first thing I have to do is get the tyre replaced.

Let me walk you though the day.

This morning I packaged and printed and trimmed and laminated until 3pm, when we shipped all orders away.  I had the idea to head out to a hardware store (Maplin) to pick up two little audio connectors I wanted (approx 99p each).  Well we got to Maplins around 5pm, due to the usual traffic in Glasgow. The Maplin store is in a big retail park next a Currys Store and the usual Halfords (car accessory shop).  While I searched for my Adaptor Suzanne and the Suzettes visited the BIG PET STORE to look at fluffy things and fishes.. all went well and we all returned to the car with my adaptors and no new pets.  Heading home we nearly got swiped off the road by a big truck and I swerved fast to avoid any trouble.

Approximately 2 minutes later the car was swerving and making a racket, I pulled off the road to find my rear tyre had gone Very flat… So I went to the boot of the car to get the spare, the jack and the wheel brace to take the nuts off.

Jack – Check (missing the arm to turn it, but I had a screwdriver)

Spare – Check (Space saver tyre, bah… )

Wheel Brace – DOH!!!!!  Had the car since January and I didnt check it for a wheel brace….

We sat there pondering different ways to get the flat wheel off to no avail, before phoning the AA to get them to send someone out to loosen my nuts. I had to join the AA (I had been planning too anyway) and pay over £100 for the privelidge.

The AA repair man arrived within 30 minutes and had us on the road 20 minutes later… now I need to buy a new tyre tommorrow at a cost of near £100 again, so 2x 99p adaptors have cost us over £200.  What a joy today has been..

Suzanne sat giggling as I told the AA company about my problem with my nuts, and how my embarrassment shone through as the nice AA man fixed our predicament. I would like to thank him for his assistance and I hope the rest of his day was a lot easier and didn’t have any more “muppets” in it.

  Today Suzanne learned that the email address for AMI copyright issues and abuse etc has changed. If you have sent issues in the last few weeks to  any other address, they may have not be received or actions.  Suzanne takes copyright very seriously and was dissapointed this address had changed without her being notified, but we are now able to put that right.  You can of course still send your concerns or queries to Suzanne directly and we will forward it on or deal with it ourselves.

 

 Before I sign off, the AMI pack has no official release date as yet, but we can secretly say we dont know when either… before Monday has been suggested…
