Etsy Treasuries

Do you remember the Guest Giveaways Every Friday Night? Gosh I miss them a lot  P & hope to bring them back soon … so I though I would tell you all a little about Etsy, as all the guests were wonderful sellers there too! ( You can find the gorjuss etsy shop HERE ) I’ve been on Etsy for over 5 years now, wow what changes have been made since I joined, it was a small community of handmade, & vintage retro people, so small we almost noticed every new seller that joined   YES , now it hosts over 10 million members & is a hub of eco conscious trend setters who are showing the world that handmade is the way forward, & how it can enhance your life (& your wallet!).

What Is A Treasury ?

An ever-changing, member curated shopping gallery

Right from the beginning Etsy wanted to change the way we shop, their search or “newly listed” function was never the main objective, instead giving us new ways to find , such as by colour, category, time machine,  Shop Local, Pounce shows you items from new shops, or what’s just sold to other people, these keep Etsy interesting and differ them to being ‘just another online market’.

A new way to discover & shop !  Etsy treasuries evolved as member curated galleries to showcase carefully selected pieces, a lucky few per day, would be chosen to feature on the front page of the Etsy website, at different points during the day/evening, there is no warning of this, it just goes *pop* onto the FP !…

Catching a treasury became almost impossible as the site grew, in response easy has now opened treasury system to everyone, letting YOU create one when you want, all with equal chance to hit the FP, but with the added function of being able to tag your theme, or search by keyword ( brilliant if you’re shopping for a specific theme – see what other people recommend !). But what I love most about the Etsy treasury, (& I know a lot of other people join me in this), is that mostly the Curators put together a lovely mix of items that just ‘go well together’ and that takes the searching out of shopping for me, I often find little gems in a treasury I’m featured in, as the items of course, follow a similar theme or colour, it’s just a perfect way to shop !  New member on Etsy? Try making your own treasury, it’s easy !

 

So there we have some info on Etsy, I hope you found it interesting.  What I really want to mention is that with the size of Etsy growing so many new improvements are being made, one of which is that I can now share these Treasuries that FEATURE something gorjuss, with YOU right here on the blog ( Those of you who follow me on Twitter & FB will know I send links via etsy to them!).  I hope you all really enjoy seeing these small curated shop galleries, and just think you may see some lovely goods that go with your gorjuss purchases – just in time for the start of Christmas shopping ( yes I mentioned it ! LOL!)  Argh
