Fridays can be productive…
Good evening one and all,
Its Friday night, the time for fun and frolics and regrets.. well there are no regrets in the Woolcott house today. A chiropractic session has left Suzanne feeling comfortable and she used this time to put some solid work in. Lets get down to business…
A.P.B. Kismet
We have received reports of Kismet running amok in London near Gatwick airport, rumours have it that he is heading to the US to cause some havoc in the white house.. I think he may run for President, its not like he’s too catty. I think he’d do well… I suspect that his policies on mice and birds may hamper his appeal. Anyway if you see a chocolate cat near you, tell him to go home…..
ANOTHER IMAGE IS DONE
A nice new image, using another picture in it…and available as a print from ETSY this very minute. Now whats it called?? Quite simply…”The Fall”… now you think about it, its kind of obvious…. and beautiful.. now with that image done I make it 5 left until an AMI pack is ready. OOOOOH can I have an OOOOH from you all please?
As I said Suzanne really put the effort in today… so I’m very happy to reveal that its not 5 left until the next pack………… its only 4….
“Underwater” by Suzanne Woolcott aged 12 from Glasgow..
Sorry I had a Tony Heart moment there…. (Dodgey reference to a kids program from the UK), this painting is a stunning rich blue colour that pulls you into the ocean.. If you stare at it too long you’ll forget to breath.. again available as a print on ETSY as you read this.
FAIRY PACK
Suzanne would like to thank all of you who rushed to buy her fairy mini pack at AMI, its is reasuring for her to see how much you love her work and how much you support her. The pack has been selling well and this means there could be a delay between making your purchase and receivning the pack. Please be patient, and if you’re worried at all contact customerservice@artisticmindsinc.com and they will help you, If you are still not getting anywhere, then please let Suzanne know and she will help where she can.
Whats Happening Tommorrow?
Well Suzanne is going to kill me for making this revelation to you all, and infact she will probably say its me thats to blame…. but its not… infact to be even more sickeningly bad and cheesy, we got engaged after one of these… its EUROVISION…
For all of you unaware of the pain and pleasure of THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, let me put you straight.
44 Countries vote for a singer/group & a song to represent their country in this international contest of song. Usually cheesier than a packet of Cheese puffs, they take to the stage in overly theatrical costumes singing cheesier than primula extra cheesey chesse spread, and hope that when the other countries vote, they score a maxium of 12 points. Its only good if you take it all with a pinch of salt and enjoy the daftness of it all.
Now every year we run a little competition where you pick a number between 1 and 25, this number then selects your country…. should that country win the competition you win the trophy… this was just to make the suffering of the show worthwhile. So tommorrow night the countrys have been selected.
Suzanne is : Azerbaijan
And before you ask, they are both men!!!!
Mr G sadly got : Sweden
Click here to see Swedens entry
So should you like us, like the odd bit of cheese and giving into your inner child for one night, join us in our euronightmare and pick a country that you would like to represent..
Then I’ll update you tommorrow night who won, maybe I can get a little prize for the winner.. Rules simple….. first to comment and pick a country has the chance to get the prize should that country win.. Oh my goodness it is my fault… im trying to corrupt you all………….. erggggggggggg sorry..
Heres the finalists you can select from…
(Information taken from the BBC Website)
Im sorry if your not a eurovision fan, and I wish you well tommorrow night…
Good night all and good luck.
Nico and Vlad | Pe-o Margine De Lume
Nothing like a nice bit of slow-burning operatics and smart formal-wear to kick off the evening, and Nico and Vlad (pictured) deliver. 80-1 to win
Andy Abraham | Even If
A foot-tapping, dad dancing concoction of disco and soul from the former binman flying the flag for the United Kingdom. 100-1
Olta Boka | Zemren E Lame Peng
Traditional ballad with a big chorus as stirring as an icy blast from the Adriatic and a 16-year-old vocalist. A whopping 125-1
No Angels | Disappear
Ruthlessly efficient close harmonies and power pop from the Teutonic, head-turning, German Popstars-winning four-piece. 100-1
Sirusho | Qele, Qele
An infectious polka-infused mixture of pop and Armenian folk from 21-year-old ‘national treasure’ Sirusho. A healthy 14-1
6 Bosnia & Herzegovina
Laka | Pokuoaj
Eccentric alternative rocker from cult Balkan icon Elvir Lakovic Laka, his sister Mirela and troupe of knitting brides. 18-1
Boaz | The Fire in Your Eyes
Pleasant Middle Eastern-flecked warble sung by 20-year-old Israeli Pop Idol pin-up Boaz Mauda and penned by Eurovision winner Dana International. 80-1
Terasbetoni | Missa Miehet Ratsastaa
Anthemic, ear-splitting rocker from well-established Finnish heavy metallers Terasbetoni – essentially Lordi without the rubber. 14-1
9 Croatia
Kraljevi Ulice and 75 Cents | Romanca
Traditional folk oddity from Zagreb street performers, a septuagenarian rapper and an old gramophone. Not especially romantic then. A lofty 125-1
10 Poland
Isis Gee | For Life
Big roof-raising Celine Dion-style ballad from the painstakingly perma-tanned and turned out American-born, adopted Pole Gee. A surprisingly long 100-1
Euroband | This Is My Life
A perky reminder of Euro-pop of old from the boundlessly energetic, Jemini-esque Eurovision veterans Friorik Omar and Regina Osk. 80-1
Mor ve Otesi | Deli
An unusual choice for Eurovision, this is an indie rocker about a man driven to the brink of madness by love from the Turkish Coldplay. 33-1
Vania Fernandes | Senhora Do Mar (Negras Aguas)
Super soaraway ballad sung by Portuguese powerhouse and household name Fernandes from serial Eurovision underachievers Portugal. 25-1
Pirates of the Sea | Wolves of the Sea
They’re pirates, they come from the sea and they’re collectively known as Pirates of the Sea. Actually they’re a Latvian singer, dancer and television personality who are old enough to know better and look like they’ve escaped from a low-rent remake of Treasure Island. A swashbuckling 50-1
Charlotte Perrelli | Hero
Sweden are Eurovision warhorses and Perrelli herself has won the contest herself once before. Precision engineered Abba-esque pop. 8-1
Simon Mathew | All Night Long
Vicar’s son Mathew commits Anglophilia with this Robbie Williams-like slice of bouncy BritPop, served up with a Danish accent. 33-1
Diana Gurtskaya | Peace Will Come
Rousing anti-war anthem from relative Eurovision newcomers Georgia, sung by blind Georgian belter Gurtskaya. 33-1
Ani Lorak | Shady Lady
An uplifting dance floor stomper from singer, actress, children’s author and UN Goodwill Ambassador Lorak. A near sure thing at 3-1
Sebastien Tellier | Divine
Laid-back Gallic cool with a quirky, catchy undercurrent from cult singer-songwriter and Daft Punk cohort Sebastien Tellier. 50-1
20 Azerbaijan
Elnur and Samir | Day After Day
Separately they’re classically trained Elnur Huseynov and rocker Samir Javadzade. Together they’re fronting this memorable gothic monster of Meatloaf-sized proportions from Eurovision first-timers Azerbaijan. 50-1
Kalomira | Secret Combination
New York-born to Greek parents, singer, actress and TV presenter Kalomira Sarantis is sure to caption the dads vote with this impossibly catchy, Britney-ish slice of pop. 8-1
22 SpainRodolfo Chikilicuatre | Baila El Chiki Chiki
Created by comedian David Fernandez Ortiz, rockabilly reject Rodolfo sings a Latin mix of rap and reggae, and claims to be the inventor of vibrator-guitar. A comedy song without the comedy, basically.25-1
Jelena Tomaoevic feat. Bora Dugic | Oro
Following in the comfortable shoes of last year’s Serbian winner Marija Serifovic is award-winning Tomaoevic with this more traditional offering. 9-1
24 Russia
Timbaland-produced big ballad from Iron Curtain heart-throb Bilan and Eurovision big-hitters Russia. The bookies favourite at 11-4
25 Norway
And, closing proceedings, we have some hook-filled, sophisticated pop from the land of fjords, performed by Norwegian Pop Idol success story Maria Haukaas Storeng. 40-1

um, I’m confused. . .Mr. G, are you saying that your Swedish lady IS ACTUALLY A MAN??? (Are you sure that’s not Kismet in disguise? Or maybe Kismet is doing the yowling for Azerbaijan? Meee-ouch!) Azerbaijan gave me a headache. Sorry, Suzanne!
I’m going with Romania. . .it sounds more like a real song than many of them. The rap dude popping out of the box rocked my world! Yeah, that’s a winner all right!
By the way, I would totally vote for your cat, if he decides to run for president. He probably has a pretty good chance of winning. . .I already saw some “Kismet 2008” signs and bumper stickers when driving around today!
Ok Ill go with United Kingdom.

Has Kismet returned from his travels yet?

I think I’ll go with France. Why not?
Love the new images. And you get a big OHHHHHHH from me. I’m looking forward to the new pack. The little fairies are adorable.
I’ll keep my eyes out over here in Kentucky, USA. They are having the “Taste of Cincinnati” this weekend. All the local restaurants have a big party out on the streets. There’s food, drink, music and fun galore. Kismet could be heading that way if he gets a whiff of it. There will be lots of fish being cook. Any particular favorites for Kismet? I can keep lookouts at those particular booths for you…lol.
