Mr G’s Canvas Printing Exstravaganza

By on 5-12-2010 in Ramblings

Good afternoon to you all,

I don’t know how many of you have read some of the old blog posts I used to make where I would go through the processes of manufacturing here at Gorjuss Art HQ… though that sounds like we have our own building like Trump Tower its more a covert undercover base of gorjuss genious.

In our little Gorjuss StripeyCave, Mr G sits waiting for that red phone to ring or for a light in the sky in the shape of a stripey sock appears, thus signalling time to start making something….
At Gorjuss Art all of our products are made to order, when your order is received it can take upto 24 hours for us to process it and produce the product, then packaging and shipping. Canvas wraps are more involved at the production stage and can take up to 48 hours to make.

Here is a picture of a print out of prints on our Canon ipf6100 24″ printer, I print off the roll to reduce waste and to allow for a wide range of sizes of prints to be offered to you, it does mean trimming is required…

As I say I do try to keep paper waste to a minimum and with such good recycling facilities in our town, it really means we can do our bit to help.

At the end of trimming I end up with a nice pile of prints in Cello bags (to protect them), ready to package up and send out in our big white re-inforced mailers.

Now here you can see the nice chunky pine frame sitting on top of the printed canvas sheet of “My Own Little Universe”, this frame is assembled by myself depending on the size of canvas requested.. this one is 8″x10″…

Now after stretching and lining it up it leaves us with big corners that need to be folder nicely, I like my hospital corners….

Which then becomes a neat tidy box shape, few little finishing touches and stringing it ready to hang, and then its all ready to send..

Now we end up with these lovely canvas wrap prints, ready to hang on any wall, the designs seen here are “The Dark Streak”, “The Collector” and “My Own Little Universe”, they are all 8″x10″ and sell in our gorjuss art shop. To buy one of these, you need to search for the print that you want to buy, and in its item description you can pick what size of print you want OR what size of Canvas Wrap you want.

This is our biggest available canvas wrap, it is 25″x20″ and is pictured here next to an 8″x10″ print of the same image, as you can see the colours are as vibrant on the canvas as they are on the semi-gloss print..

Well thank you for joining me on this tour of manufacturing, I do love what I do, and I hope you enjoy the end product…

Best Wishes to you all
Mr G

  4. Nice post. I discover something newer on different blogs everyday. Most commonly it is stimulating to learn to read content using their company writers and rehearse a little from their website. I’d like to use some while using the content on my small blog no matter. Naturally I’ll provide a link in your web blog. Thank you for sharing.
