Hello Guest Giveaway lovely! Please tell us a little bit about you , who are you, where you’re from!??
My name is Malathip Kriheli. I am a New Yorker that was raised in Bangkok, Thailand. While my professional background and training has been in interior architecture, my focus of late has been in graphic and fine art and illustration.
Tell us about what you make & your inspiration?
See, I love animals. My illustrations are primarily patterns that fuse wildlife and plant-life. My inspiration is drawn from the plight of endangered animals across the globe. So my work has a very environmentally conscious bent aimed to raise awareness.
What is your favourite item to make/sell ?
I love the process of conceptualizing, sketching, designing and finishing a completed painting. It is a labor of love. I particularly love selling my notecards because they all come with information about each endangered animal – that way I succeed in my mission of sharing information I’ve learned to both the buyer and the recipient.
Do you have any favourite Etsy items you’ve bought?
I’ve purchased ceramic dessert plates that I absolutely love. I adore a lot of ceramic works from various merchants.
Do you have any other websites people can find you?
• ecopatterns.com – this is my baby, my business. I sell my art prints, note cards and t-shirts on this site.
• malathip.com – i recently re-architected my personal site into a blog and will use it as my vehicle to communicate my ongoing creative projects.
• sleeplessseed.com – i love attempting cooking new things and eating, and this food blog is my little hobby on the side.
Whats the best advice you’ve ever been given?
My father repeatedly tells me : “if you like what you do, keep doing it – regardless of success. If you give up and try new things over and over, everything will be cyclical and you’ll never be great at anything.” I try and stick to this philosophy.
Anything else you’d like to say?
Lately I’ve been caught humming the “Indiana Jones” theme music and my husband thinks I’m nuts. Maybe I am subconsciously looking for lost treasure? OR perhaps the treasure is me being featured on this site !

What beautiful notecards!! I’m all for raising awareness of endangered species! ^_^
Oooh… a guest, a guest…
Well, the other day, on our way out for our usual early start, a little visitor crossed and stared at us. This little visitor doesn’t usually come here at all! Very odd to spot in our neighborhood indeed! Especially since we live just off a busy road!
It was a gorgeous red fox who looked like he was just soaking up the sun!
Naturally, that put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. ^_^
Good Luck to everyone entering and big thumbs up to Suzanne and Mr G for making this possible! 😀
Much love,
Paulie
Hello everyone!!!

As for a guest story, hmmmm,
I have to say that my husband has done some things to get rid of guests that are pretty silly, (most being friends that take what he does or says with a grain of salt lol)
but His most direct approach usually works the best, Dude you have to leave we want to go to bed. plain and simple lol

I have guest every evening in my garden. 2 Black cats. They are absolutely gorgeous. They peer in my window for a second or two. Then they snuggle together in the childrens trampoline enclosure for about half an hour, and then they go home. They do the same thing every evening. So cute x
i had a guest that just appeared one day so i got a trap and set it up 2 days later i heard a lil noise and went outside and found that it was a gorgeous lil white persian so i kept her.
We had guests turn up one Sunday afternoon to have tea with us. Unfortunately we’d forgotten they were coming!
Well this isn’t a story of a house guest, but more of a lawn guest. The past few summers our neighbour’s cat has taken to sleeping on our front lawn in the shade for most of the day. Whenever we come home, she gets up from her corner, comes and greets us with purrs and rubs, and then goes back to her spot. An unwanted guest she certainly isn’t!
My nephew stayed with us a year or so ago. He was the kid that wasn’t going to amount too much. I was soooooo wrong. He joined the Navy, did two tours in the Persian Gul. I am so proud of him. I try to get him to stay at least a day with us when he visits but you can’t keep him long when he is visiting.
I love my nephew and am extremely proud of him.
I think of an unweelcome guest who snuck into my house last summer. I live in a really old house and it has windows that slide down from the top or up from the bottom. Somehow my hall window slid down about 2 inches without me knowing. While lying in bed watching TV that night I felt something flutter pass my head.. I turned on the light and was confronted by a bat.. Now I have always been terrified of bats and I am the only one home and I have to catch this guy and get him out of the house. I had 3 dogs that were going absolutely bonkers and 2 cats chassing this guy around the room.. I am running and screaming trying to throw a towel over him. I did finally get him and tossed him back outside.. Found the open window over the weekend and made hubby seal it shut..LOL

I start arguing loudly with my Hubby about something very small and silly.
We agree before hand on something so that it doesn’t get out of hand. Then ask the guest to give an opinion and take sides.
ALways works a treat.. lol
I just can’t help but think about how, when I lived closer to my boyfriend, I would always invite our friends over to his place, so that I didn’t have to deal with things like noise or mess at my place. And he was a great host, too. 🙂
I moved to the US 3 years ago from Peru, in South America, and the most wonderful guest I received was my sister Ceci, she stayed for a whole month and we had a blast together!!

Beautiful cards!
Good luck to all who enter 🙂
When I was little my parents had some frineds who always used to outstay their welcome when they visited so one night my dad set the alarm clock to go off at about 11pm. The guests asked why it was ringing and dad said it meant it was his bedtime!
My Dad used to wish guests goodbye by advising them not to let the door hit them on the bum as theyre leaving…
He wasn’t very subtle… Oh and this competition wraps up tomorrow night… Get your comments IN ASAP…
lovely greeting notes.. and hello from Canada.. 😀
our house guest is a stinky one.. whonever comes into our home.. ya see.. until recently we used to have our windows open every nite till about 11pm or later.. but with our house guest.. he’s always trying to get a rile out of my ginger tabby…my ginger tabby cant stand the fact that a SKUNK.. yep ya heard me.. Dboy and i named it peppy le PHEW.. cause if ya dont hear his tiny lil feet click clackin on the sidewalk out side our window/apt.. then the stink will get ya.. i am just so worry my ginger tabby will make some sort of noise and we will get sprayed.. EEEEWWWW…Booboo (ginger tabby) sits in my windows at nite to watch the people walkin by and enjoyin the nite air.. till he hears the click clack of tiny feet.. i have to hurry to the window and take him out and slowy close the window.. so we dont get sprayed.. :O
Mouthie N Dboy
Booboo and Peppy Le Phew
I have lots of guests each night from dusk ’til dawn – my garden is a snail paradise to meet, greet, eat and rave until dawn. Fortunately I also have a friendly hedgehog who occasionally gatecrashes the party and saves the remaining greenery 😀
Such beautiful ethereal images. Would love to see some stationary with the “smokey shadow images” as backgrounds. Thanks for sharing a new artist with us! *smiles*
We sometimes have a recurring guest, he hasn’t been around for a while but when he does come he makes our 2 supposedly ferocious hunter hounds (Jack Russells) quake with fear. Yes the dogs that are renowned for their hunting skills run for the hills if they see a little squeaky mouse cross their paths. Woos bags!
I almost forgot about our little family of visitors from last year. We have a bird box in our garden and last year we were lucky enough to have a family of Great Tits. I have some awesome photos of them flying bath & forth with food for their babies. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for reminding me. I hope they return this year xx
One of my parent’s friend, when he had guests and it was late, he went to took his alarm clock, came back to the living room where the guests were, and charge the mainspring of the clock, so the guests understood it was time to leave
My brother’s girlfriend moved in with me and my husband for a few days and stayed 6 months. If my brother had not married her, she might still be here. That was in 1977, and the marriage didn’t last.
Oh, what a stupendous giveaway, and I have to hurry if I want to get my comment on time!
I read somewhere on an Internet article that a good way to keep unwanted guests away from our home was to place a broom behind the door… never tried that myself, but here is the tip! 🙂
Thankyou for all your entries…. competition is now closed. Winner will be announced shortly…
