To Enter: Describe your ideal holiday destination (That’s a Vacation for those in the US btw!) and why…
Ends: Saturday Blog Post (10pmish)
Rules: No Double Posting please.
My ideal vacation would be to Jamaica. I’ve always wanted to go there. My husband has been there twice and said it’s the most beautiful thing he has ever seen, beside me of course..lol. Well that is what he said….lol. Riding horses in the hills. Midnight strolls along the beach. Snorkeling. Being lazy!
Your new paintings this week are just so adorable, love them all.
Okay Ideal destination would be Switzerland, I live in Sydney (Australia)
About 8 years ago we visited Switzerland, my hubby decided to go skiing as I was very sick with morning sickness, and hubby broke his thumb while skiing. We had to cut our trip short as he needed surgury asap and I was quite Ill.
We would like to go back and explore it properly and take the kids with us for a white christmas.
Cute paintings!
My ideal destination would be France. I have been wanting to visit the Eiffel Tower for a long tims.
Another place I would love to visit is Australia. I always wanted my own Koala bear and realize I can’t have one but still. Ever since I saw A Place Called Alice and other movies, I have wanted to go there. I love Aboriginal art work and have an Aboriginal Dream Painting and a bark painting.
Just gorgeous things on the horizon .. how exciting !!!
My ideal vacation would be one reminiscent of the wonderful family vacations I had when I was a young girl. We spent many family holidays down south and some wonderful fun filled days in Florida and Disney World. My son never knew his grandparents as my dad passed away many years ago and my mom just this year with advanced alzheimer’s. It saddens me they could not be a part of each other’s lives and it brings to mind many of the wonderful vacations we shared as a family when I was young. I hope that I will be able to provide my son with so many wonderful memories of vacations together and special fun filled family time. Children remember these family vacations for a lifetime.
My next ideal destination will be Boston ,Mass i wanna visit Cheer’s i use to love that show
Congrats on the new painting!! It’s beautiful π
I’d go back to Brazil to hang out with my family and friends.. U see, this year we (my husband, my 10 mo old baby and I) moved from Brazil to the US and we miss my family and friends a lot!
I love your art! I’ve been dreaming of having some of your work to decorate my baby’s room π I really have my fingers crossed!!
Love,
Thilie
Wow! What an insane prize! My ideal vacation place is Italy. I went to Italy when I was three… I can’t remember anything except the extremely blue ocean, so I’m not sure why I have always wanted to go back!
right now it would just be my bed & sleep!! lol i work the early, early shift and am too naughty to go to bed at a sensible hour π
Me and hubby would love to visit the deep rainforest and spend a day in among the orangutans they are beautiful and need lots of help..such a beautiful thing to do
Right now the ideal vacation wouldn’t even be so far from home. I’m itching to just jump into the car and go spend some days in the sunny southern french Alps at my parnet’s vacation house, just two hours from here. I have a deep longing for long hikes above 2000 meters and moutain lakes. To just stand on a path with just the sky, the forests and some sheep in sight… and gather wild raspberries and blueberries on the way…
Before I talk about an ideal vacation, just wanted to say WOW the next pack should be awesome.
The most wonderful holiday I took was with my future husband.
We went to the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky. We sat in the infield. That was the year that Secretariat won the Triple Crown. I would never dream of betting on the color of the Jockey Silks but my best hunches are on numbers, no not the statistics, the number of letters in the horses name, and I don’t think I should ever forget about betting on a horse because its initials was a combination of my last name and the model of car I drove.
I will stop because I am laughing so hard. Thanks for the theme of the giveaway. What wonderful memoriies they brought to mind.
Oh my, she is so beautiful! The Sway kind of reaches in and touches me, she’s so lovely π
Ideal vacation would be somewhere sunny but not too hot, not a lot of people around and a place to stay that has soft beds for my aches and pains and delicious fare for my appreciative palate π Just hubby and I would go and it would have to last at least two weeks so we would have time to unwind, enjoy ourselves and prepare to return, a month would be mindblowing! Now somewhere in Australia like this would be my dream destination, I’ve always wanted to go there π
There are still places I haven’t mentioned that I would like to vacation. A romantic trip on the Trans Siberian Railroad from Japan across Russia would fulfill a lifelong dream. I would be in long wool coat with big fur collar and cuffs and a marvelous fox hat downing vodka and eating blini with caviar at each stop.
Right now, my ideal holiday would be a rental house in the mountains of Vermont overlooking Lake Champlain. One with huge windows to let in the light, and a nice deck to relax on, where I could finally get down to writing all this stuff in my head. π
The latest Gorjuss girl is just adorable! Suzanne you just get better and better! A fantastic prize on offer this week, thank you very much for your generousity π
I would love to go to New Zealand.I have always wanted to go there (maybe even to live one day) but after watching Lord Of The Rings and seeing all the beautiful scenery filmed out there it has made me love it even more.
So New Zealand would be my ideal holiday destination π
I could even become a sheep farmer,it wouldn’t be so baaaaa’d π
Sorry couldn’t help it lol
I love this.
My ideal vacation would be a summer in Cornwall.
When I was younger, we stayed near Tintagel for a little while and the landscape was wild and raw and dramatic and magical. It was the first time my breath was ever taken away.
I would rent a tiny cottage in the moor and sit on a rock all day just staring at the sea. I would take my sketchbook and just draw all day while everything around me smells like salt and freedom. I would climb into caves and stroll through fields and just feel free, free, free. I would never get bored and just let nature get things in perspective for me.
I would dance in the rain and soak up the sunshine and giggle if people laughed at me.
Many people said their perfect vacation would be the caribbean. I am sure it is beautiful there, but a white beach and crystal clear water don’t make something perfect for me. I don’t need a cocktail in a hammock if I can have a glass of wine on a cliff. π Yes, Cornwall it is.
xx
“Describe your ideal holiday destination and why⦔ That’s a hard one, ….
(For years there was one place on earth I wanted to see, though since the breakup with my boyfriend I do not desire to see where he lives anymore. We’ve been separated by the ocean for years, and saw each other here in Europe sometimes.)
But the only thing I would like to visit these days is the place where my heart really is. Though that’s hard cause my heart is on two places, Ireland and Switzerland. The first is the land where the celtic culture is still visible, the second is where it all started. You may think, why those two? Well that’s because I’m not at one of the two places, I would love to be in Switzerland with my relatives but I can’t and I would love to just walk over the hills in Ireland but that isn’t possible as well, cause I’m stuck in the middle. I’m stuck in Holland where everything is flat…

Hello Suzanne! I have to say WOW!! I’m loving the new painting’s! I cannot wait to see the tubes as well.
My ideal holiday would be me and my hubby in Italy. Walking through a piazza in Tuscany, holding hands. No schedule’s to meet. No kids. Just me and my husband sipping a coffee, under the twinkling stars, talking and being together.
Ahhh, a girl can dream can’t she? π
I have just celebrated two years post lung transplant π
Now that I`ve been given the gift of a second life I don`t know where to start…I`ve made so many amazing friends all around the world…I`d love to be able to visit them all…But I think I`d like to start in my own back yard…and tour all around Scotland…being of Scottish descent. :)*
peace & karma all

I really want to go to New York City. I visited the city 15 years ago and I really want to go back to see what the city looks like now.
Hugs Therese
Ideal holiday destination has to be Iceland.
Truly different. Been there once and have been wanting to go back ever since.
Got to see the aurora borealis too. Gorjuss place.
And I like it cold.. it’s the heat I can’t stand.
A lovely weekend to all x
Id also like to go to New York especially in winter i love the cols air
My ideal holiday vacation would be anywhere lol. I haven’t been on a holiday since before having my first child (she’s almost 10 now). It’s been a rough few years and with the hubby being out of work there for a while and the economy being what it is we just never have the funds to go anywhere. I’ve always wanted to go to Germany as I have a close friend there but heck I’d settle for someplace close, lol, just to get away. I would like to take my 3 girls on a holiday to Florida and let them dip their toes in the ocean. And of course I love to take photos so any place appealing to the camera lense is also nice too π
Love the new drawings. You impress me more and more everytime you have a new release. π
My next place would be Australia outback i love camping and id love to see koala bears and kangaroo’s
My ideal holiday would be…
Oh!!! the choices, the choices! Firstly I would love to go camping with Mr McVitie who makes jaffacakes, and while he was sleeping, I would ambush him, and demand to know how he makes the jaffacake so lush. When he got back from the local Accident & Emergency, from his concusion, I would share a cuppa tea & a jaffacake with him. Near bedtime I would slip out of my size 4 pink bunny slippers of doom, and sit & squeeltch my toes in the mud, BECAUSE THERES’ ALWAYS MUD WHEN IM CAMPING!! lol. BUT if this dream, *coff* I mean holiday couldnt happen for legal reasons, or due to the fact Mr McVitie has applies for YET ANOTHER restraining order against me I would….
My other ideal holiday, would be to return to Fuerteventura, with my hubby and our girls, so we could dance like demented baboon’s to “Cartoon Heroes” “purple people eater” and the legend that is Rolf Harris, singing ” The Court of King Caractacus”. Hurtling along on the wrong side of the road, gripping my seat by my very buttcheeks, while my hubby was driving like he was Lewis Hamilton on alkaseltzers. Ahhhh that was a truly brilliant holiday. My girls swimming in the ocean, me sat under a beach umbrella with 3rd degree burns from the sun.. wooohooo we know how to have a good time, does my lot eh! lolol.
I shall take my leave now, as I go to assault yet ANOTHER jaffacake.
Amen
1st off Suzanne that is one GORJUSS painting!
Ideal vacation (I’m going to have to come back when have time to read all the posts….love reading the other parts of the world you all like visiting)….would be somewhere with a clean beach, warm, blue water and right on the water so I could hear any waves coming in an out. It rejuvenates my soul when I get to visit the beach. The best we’ve visited was now 20 years ago (anniversary this past week) when we were on honeymoon cruise and stopped and took a ferry to St John. OH MY! The bluest water I’ve ever seen.
Have a FABULOUS weekend!
My ideal holiday would be to Eire so our adopted children could meet their Irish family and Great-Nanna.
My next would be to go to Cancun just because I hope to find beautiful places and i love being around water
I have to say my ideal holiday destionation is somewhere Ive been to many times, Japan. If offers not only for me exotic beauty, and marvelous attractions, ones which will last a lifetime of memories.
Some of the places I loved were of cource Tokyo, it has everything from a mox of zany youth and trendyness to to old and very tradtional ways there, Ull enjoy the Ginza , which is shopping and food , and its best at night with all the neon lights and the smells of mouth watering food as you walk through.
If you enjoy beautiful gardens and hisdtory, ull love The Imperial Palace, its grounds are beautiful, with breath taking waterfalls and beautiful Cherry Blossom trees, which are called Sekura in Japan, and it is thought by the Japanese to be a symbol of the strength of the Japanese culture.
Another city we love in Japan is Osaka. Its I beleive the 3rd larest city in Japan, We love the vibrant Osaka Aquarium, you can view many of the animals from diffrent perspectives and its great if you love to take pictures.
The Osaka Castle is on a river and its a landmark , its surrounded by gates walls ands moats and really worth touring if you love history.
The other place we always visit is Nagoya, its shopping is simply the best if you love shopping, and the food and dinning cant be beat…we also saw concerts here in Nagoya for some rock bands which was great , they call this area Sakae , and whats neat is now is a place called Nadya Park, a small city within the city, containing a design center and museum, a Loft department store, Kinokuniya bookstore ( LOVE this if you really read you will just go mad) .
And the last place I cant not go when we are there is Yokohama, its 30min from Tokyo by train and just a delight, I gotta grab Milky tea when I go there, this stuff you can buy in bottles or cans there, in stores and vending machines and its just like we buy soda here, they drinkit like mad there, its delicious. There Chinatown is simply wonderful, from colorful gates and lights to the food and shops, Daska is a food theme park, so if you love eating its the place for you.
If you love culture and oytdoors and beauty in Gardens , I do go to Sankeien Garden its beautiful , they showcase a number of historic buildings from across Japan. There is a pond, small rivers, flowers and wonderful scrolling trails , its paradise.
Thats my dream place, my vaction, though Ive been there to Japan and can go on and on , we always go back , we are going again very soon, it will be my 8th trip and I never get tired of its history , culture and beauty.
So many destinations, so little time. But to choose one….then my ideal Holiday Destination would be India. First for the breathtaking Taj Mahal, where I would love to stand before it with my husband, hand in hand and breathe in the beauty. Then of course I would want to experience the immense diversity – culturally as well as geographically. And while in India, I would make my way to Anjuna Beach , known for its infamous full moon parties, very hippy! And last but not least, Indian cuisine! I love Indian food and make it at home frequently, but to get the real thing, I am sure would be beyond description delicious (Oh the Curry!). India, oh the exoticism and mystery!
Thank you for this chance to day dream!
Love your Art and look forward to more!
Good wishes to you and yours,
Jess.
My ideal holiday vacation would be to either Disneyworld or Disneyland. As much as I say I would love a vacation without my children I would love to take them there before anything else.
ROFL My ideal vacation would be to spend sometimes inside Loon3y’s head. So many funny sounds and flashing lights, no attraction park in the world comes even close to that place LOL.
*waves* Hiya Loon3y!!!
Seriously, other than the long list of places I’d like to visit my ideal vacation right now would be a few days in a remote place with my SO and our two furbabies. Near water, waking up to the sound of the birds and critters, sipping coffee and thinking of absolutely nothing other than the beauty of nature. I can’t remember the last time we’ve been anywhere and having a home based workplace often means “opened 24/24 7/7” Sigh!
My ideal vacation is Italy Tuscany. For three years we went to Tuscany. I love Florence, San Gigminano (best ice cream of the world) I love the musea and all the art. The food is good, well as we always everything is beautiful in Italy.
I’ve never been anywhere outside the US, so there are lots of places I’d love to go! The first place I’d like to go is Ireland. I’m not sure why; I’ve just always wanted to see it.
My favorite vacation I’ve taken, though, would have to be when i went to Las Vegas last year. I’m not really into gambling, but I enjoyed looking around at the hotels, casinos, etc., shopping, and seeing a couple of shows. π I went by myself, so I could do whatever I wanted and didn’t have to worry about anyone else, which was nice! LOL
I want to visit lots of places IN the USA I want to go to see Seattle Washington and that area. My hubby is for this area…
I just love sightseeing around the various places. I would also love to visit the place he came on train to the East coast…
Overseas If I would allow my self to fly on an plane. I would love to go to Scotland… I have many relatives in the past that Migrated here maybe find some of the new ones left there after the migration to America’s and beyond..
I love the newest paintings- every one is wonderful!
My favorite holiday getaway would be a place I have not been- I have always dreamed of visiting my ancestors homeland of Scotland. My mother’s people were Scots- name of Burgess. I have spent many hours reading about, looking at photos of the country side, and wishing I could just escape to that beautiful country. While doing my family genealogy I just was amazed at the Scottish ways I found that my mother has. Now I know why.
I’d love to find some distant kin of mine, and maybe even happen upon my fav artist and hubby at a local exhibition.:-)
I think my own Scottish roots are why I am so “drawn” to Suzanne’s art.
(no pun intended!)
My ideal destination is a cruise – and if it were a Europen one – that would be superb! But for now – we are going off once more to the caribbean in a few weeks – which is much closer to where we live (South Florida). Give me the food, the drinks, the dancing, the sun, lots of shops to buy things – and we are happily on holiday!
would also love to visit new zealand with my family..its so beautiful and the veiws are breath taking,Maybe one day we could afford something like that x
Disneyland. I could live there. I love it there. I take every opportunity to get there…which is by far harder to do now that I I live about 15 hours away instead of 1 hour away. *sigh* I could sit at one of the character dinings all day, just bring on the characters to visit.
Oh, but wouldn’t it fabulous if they put a “Mr G” in Pirates of the Caribbean ride as the new Jack Sparrow??? :oD
Fabulous new painting, Suzanne! And thank you for the new buttons/banners!
Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend! Gentle hugs!
Given the opportunity, I would love to spend a couple weeks in the Roanoke Valley in Virginia. One side of my family settled the area and I remember going there as a child. The cooks were superb! The food was so farm fresh – I don’t think I have ever had Southern Fried Chicken that was that good anywhere else. Lynchburg, Roanoke, Liberty – all are cities that evoke that past and the Stewarts of long ago,
I would love to visit New Zealand, it’s about as far from here as you can get. We hope to go next year but with hubby out of work and my hours reduced it looks like we’ll have to cancel.
My ideal destination would be to take my kids and parents to Southampton,England. My mom has a pen pal that she has been writing to for over 38 yrs and she has never meet her. And I think that this would be a good place to take the family and we could all go see the sights and some of the beautiful sites that they have to offer..
I love sandy beaches with soft sand and crystal clear water dabbed with lots of seashells for my collection. A nice ocean breeze, picnic lunch, and lots cool drinks under an umbrella!
Another place I would love to visit is Russia. I have always been fascinated with Russian history and have read many books about it.
Actually, I would love to go everywhere all of you have mentioned. The world is a wonderful place, despite the problems in it. And I love all cultures.
